Don't risk diseases which are preventable by a simple vaccination
Your Greely Pharmacist can administer a variety of vaccines.
FLU
The most effective way to decrease complications and reduce the impact of the flu is to get a preventative vaccine shot.
SHINGLES
Greely Pharmasave pharmacists can administer many vaccines in addition to the flu vaccine. These vaccinations include the shingles vaccine.
TRAVEL VACCINES
Book an appointment with one of our pharmacists and they will administer your vaccines for where ever you are headed. We are not a ‘Travel Clinic’ but we can administer travel vaccines as prescribed by your physician. Our Travel Vaccination professional fee is $20.00 per injection.
At Greely Pharmasave, you’ll get the immunization care you need from a pharmacist you trust.
Your Greely Pharmasave pharmacists are specially trained certified immunizers, able to administer many vaccines in addition to the flu shot. These immunizations include the shingles vaccine as well as many common travel vaccines.*
Your local pharmacists take part in a certification process that includes: injection training, live workshops, first-aid and CPR training. Under provincial legislation, Pharmacists can administer certain vaccines to adults and children over a certain age. Ask your pharmacist at Greely Pharmasave for age restrictions and further details.
* Some conditions and injection fees may apply. Ask your local Pharmacist for more details.
Vaccinations are responsible for preventing many infectious diseases. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), immunization prevents more than two million deaths per year around the world.
The Public Health Agency of Canada had developed an immunization schedule for the entire population. The schedule lists the vaccines the government considers essential to protect people against possible disease outbreaks, and are provided free of charge. It also indicates which vaccines are to be administered at what age. Other vaccinations may also be recommended for a particular health problem, for work or lifestyle reasons, for travel, or to protect you against the flu virus.
Vaccination services are available in your local Greely Pharmasave and are provided by pharmacists who have received the required theoretical and practical training. Having your pharmacist administer your vaccine, such as a flu shot, is convenient and often no appointment is required. In many circumstances, there is no additional cost for this service as the provincial health plan covers the cost.
Remember: Vaccinations not only protects you but also indirectly protects everyone around you.
Don’t hesitate to talk to your pharmacist, who is dedicated to making sure you stay healthy.
